At some point we have all experienced walking into a new place for the first time and it can be daunting!  So this information is especially for those who are new to ECL, and maybe planning to visit, so that you know beforehand, what to expect on a Sunday.

Where and When

We meet at the St Peters Centre, Storer Rd, Loughborough, LE11 5EQ (details here)  on a Sunday afternoon, which is a particularly great if you have children playing sports. or especially if you enjoy your weekends away, visiting family and friends!

You can park on the streets around the church, but we do have permission to park in the Rosebury Medical Centre Car Park, which is just down the road, so there's not need to worry about a parking space!

As you walk through the doors on a Sunday afternoon you'll be met by one of our Welcome Team who will be wearing a Welcome lanyard and you can grab a coffee!  If you have any questions please do chat to one of the team, who'll be pleased to help!

We have 'Coffee and Connect' from 3pm which is a great way to meet people, or simply take time to find your bearings. All refreshments are free.  Our main gathering starts at 3:30pm.

Accessibility: There is wheelchair access, and a sound loop for anyone who needs it. Please let one of the Welcome Team know on your arrival and they will help you to get set up. There are disabled toilets in the main foyer and a lift to the first floor if needed.

Our Church Gathering

The main service begins at 3:30pm with a warm welcome from one of our team members. Then usually follows a time of sung worship, led by our band. We typically have 3 or 4 songs lasting approximately 20 minutes. Sometimes a person might pray out loud or read a small passage from the bible. Sometimes people share things that they believe God is saying to the whole church family. This might seem strange the first time you hear it but it’s all part of our connecting with God. We often share news and notices, usually about what’s going on in the life of the church. One of our leaders will then give a talk that is bible based and that we can apply to our everyday life.  That may be followed with a final worship song or sharing in Communion. Sometimes there is an opportunity to receive prayer at the end of the service.

What about my kids?

We have a great programme lined up for children & young people:

  • Creche (0 months to 2 years). There is a lovely child friendly space with toys on the mezzanine where parents or carers can take their children and stay and play with them there.  You can still here the service from there.  However, little ones are so important to church life, please do not feel you have to leave the main hall if you would rather stay there :)
  • Sparklers (2-4 years)
  • Impact (5-11 years)
  • Limitless Youth (11-18 years)

Children stay with their parent or grown-up at the start of the service for the welcome and some songs. We really value worshipping God all together as a family.  Someone will let you know when the children will be going upstairs to their sessions.  You will need to go with your children to their groups and register them as part of our child safety policy. If you have any questions about the children's work, the welcome team will direct you to who to speak to.

The kids group activities vary depending on the age, but usually there is a friendly welcome, bible stories, talk about our week, praying, music, craft, drama, fun games and free play. Please pick your children up as soon as the service finishes.

There are other activities for Children & Families thorough the week, check out the Children & Families and Youth pages for more information!

At ECL we take safeguarding of children very seriously. All our leaders undergo an Enhanced DBS check and follow the Elim Safeguarding Policy.

Planning your Visit

A Warm Hello

The following information is specifically for those planning a visit, so that you know, beforehand, what to expect on a Sunday morning.

Where and When

We meet at the Church Building (details here) for our Sunday Service starting at 10am. For your first visit, we recommend arriving 10-15 minutes early to ensure you get a parking space and find somewhere to sit before the service begins. When you arrive, you should be greeted by someone on our Welcome Team who will be wearing a Welcome lanyard.

We serve tea, coffee and biscuits from 10am, before the service begins. It is a great way to meet people, or simply take time to find your bearings. All refreshments are free.

Accessibility: There is wheelchair access, and a sound loop for anyone who needs it. Please let one of the Welcome Team know on your arrival and they will help you to get set up. There are disabled toilets in the main foyer.

Our Service

The main service begins at 10am with a warm welcome from one of our team members. Then follows a time of sung worship, led by our band. We typically have 2 or 3 songs lasting approximately 20 minutes. Sometimes a person might pray out loud or read a small passage from the bible. Sometimes people share things that they believe God is saying to the whole church family. This might seem strange the first time you hear it but it’s all part of our connecting with God. We then share news and notices, usually about what’s going on in the life of the church. One of our leaders will then give a sermon that is bible based and that we can apply to our everyday life. We then finish with a final worship song. Sometimes there is an opportunity to receive prayer at the end of the service.
