What Is Christianity & Who is Jesus?
Each one of us is beautifully created by God, who wants to know us personally and be close to us.
God, our perfect Father, loves us deeply, but since the time of Adam and Eve, sin has separated us from Him. The Bible tells us in Romans 3:23 (NIV), "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God."
God's love for us is so incredible that He sent Jesus, His only Son, to bring us back to Him. Jesus lived a perfect, sin-free life on Earth. Even though He had no sin, He chose to die on the cross for us. This ultimate sacrifice paid the price for our sins—a price we couldn't pay ourselves—and reconnected us with God.
It cost Jesus His life, but He offers us eternal life and a fully abundant life today to anyone who believes and confesses their faith.
This gift is given generously and freely. Believers call this "grace." You can't earn forgiveness or work your way into heaven by just being good or doing good deeds. Instead, what you need to do is invite Jesus into your heart and let Him fill you with His love and heaven’s joy.
As the Bible says in Romans 10:10 (NIV), "For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved."
If you're unsure about your relationship with God
or you know you need Jesus in your life, you can choose to follow Him right now,
pray this simple prayer:
Lord Jesus,
I'm praying this prayer because I know I've made mistakes by living without You and some of my choices haven't followed Your plan for my life.
I'm sorry, and I trust that You will forgive me.
I accept Your love and grace for me by dying on the cross, rising again and giving me everlasting life.
I ask that You be my Lord.
Help me believe in You and love You every day, and help me show the world what You are like and how great Your love is.
Thank you, Jesus. Amen.
